Waiblingen, 16.04.2024 | Corporate Press Release
Michael Schattenmann (49) is set to become the new Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations at ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG on June 1, 2024. He succeeds Dr. Stefan Caspari (61), who has headed the division for over two decades and is now entering the next phase of his retirement. Schattenmann will report directly to Michael Traub, the Chairman of the Executive Board. “In Michael Schattenmann, we have gained an outstanding communications expert who brings with him extensive experience from both the corporate environment and family businesses,” Traub says. “We value his ability to develop communication strategies and leverage current trends effectively for corporate communication.”
Schattenmann was born in the Bavarian region of Franconia in 1974 and now calls the Black Forest town of Sasbachwalden his home. A bar-certified lawyer, he began his professional career at an international business law firm in Berlin. From 2007 to 2017, he worked at Airbus in Toulouse, Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich in various roles in legal, political advocacy, and communications. Between 2017 and 2020, he was a communications and marketing manager at Heraeus Holding in Hanau, where his responsibilities included brand and external communications at group level. In 2020, he joined Hager Group in Blieskastel as a senior director of communications and PR, where he headed up the group communications function. “I look forward to working with my new team of dedicated colleagues at STIHL,” says Schattenmann, before citing his motivation for changing employers: “Actively shaping and communicating STIHL’s transformation into a leading force in both gasoline- and battery-powered technology is a challenge I am greatly looking forward to taking on.”
Dr. Stefan Caspari joined the Waiblingen-based company in October 2002 and took over the management of STIHL Corporate Communications and Public Relations. He had previously managed the office of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHT/DIHK) president in Bonn and Berlin, where he also worked for Hans Peter Stihl, now DIHK Honorary President, until 2001. Dr. Nikolas Stihl, Chairman of the STIHL Advisory Board and Supervisory Board, says: “We would like to thank Dr. Caspari for his outstanding work and many years of commitment to our company. We wish him all the best for this new chapter in his life.” Traub adds: “With his expert and professional approach to communication, Dr. Caspari has contributed to the company’s excellent reputation and positioning in the public sphere.” Caspari says: “I have always enjoyed working for STIHL. I would like to thank the Stihl family, the Executive Board, and my team in Corporate Communications for the trusting and constructive working relationship over the years. I firmly believe that the STIHL family business will continue on its successful trajectory.”
