With a land mass of more than 312,000 square kilometers, Poland is the ninth-largest country in Europe. It shares a border with seven other nations, giving it the most neighbors on the continent, and has a population of just under 40 million. What’s more, Poland has now been part of the STIHL Group for 30 years. Congratulations on the anniversary, from everyone at “Blick ins Werk”.
AN ESTABLISHED BRAND
The past three decades have been very successful for STIHL Poland. Poland currently has the highest brand recognition among countries in the STIHL Group, as revealed by the 2023 “Brand Awareness Report”. The name, the STIHL brand, and its products are very well known nationwide. The company has grown into a major player on the Polish market and is famous for the quality and reliability of its tools. All this is thanks to the tireless commitment shown every day by the 63 employees, more than 920 points of sale, and 722 authorized dealers that serve STIHL customers directly. Right now, the efforts of STIHL colleagues in Poland are focused primarily on the sale of cordless products.
STRONG REVENUES
In 2022, the subsidiary of Andreas Stihl AG & Co. KG generated sales of EUR 142.4 million, which accounted for almost three percent of the STIHL Group’s total sales. That puts STIHL Poland in 9th place within the Group and underscores the Polish company’s strong and important position on the Eastern European market. The headquarters of the company are not far from Poznań. It all began in a handful of rented buildings in 1993. Then, in 1997, the entire workforce moved into a new location owned by STIHL comprising offices and storage space, which was further extended in 2013. At the turn of the 2022/2023 year, there was a change at the top of the Management Board: After more than 30 years as Managing Director, Tomasz Cichoński handed over his position to Sławomir Surma.
TOP ATHLETES
STIHL Poland is good at more than just sales and marketing, though. The country also has some of the top performers in the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® series. Over 20 national championships have already been held, and Polish athletes turn heads time and again on the international stage as well. Michał Dubicki’s silver at the World Trophy 2023 and Szymon Groenwald’s gold medal at the Rookie World Championship 2023 are just two examples.
