Landscaping competition in Shanghai

In spring, the STIHL landscaping competition took place in Shanghai, in which landscape gardeners had to demonstrate their skills in four disciplines – lawn mowing, hedge mowing, tall trunk mowing and leaf vacuuming. The participants used exclusively STIHL battery-powered tools.

The competition spanned five industry competitions and a final competition. Each of the five branch competitions was held in different districts of Shanghai in order to allow for the widest possible participation. A total of 158 landscapers from 51 landscaping companies took part in the competitions, demonstrating their professional skills and expertise in landscaping.

The highlight of the event was the final competition at the World Expo Cultural Park. Volker Buchholz (D8/VL6), Director Sales Asia & Middle East, and Tim Zhang (CS/GEM), Managing Director of STIHL China, were among those present at this closing event. They ceremoniously presented trophies and certificates to the winners of the competition.

The aim of the event was to promote the use of environmentally friendly, energy-saving and quiet battery-powered tools in landscaping - STIHL aims to increase the overall sales share of battery-powered products to at least 35 percent by 2027. This contributes to our long-term strategy of achieving dual technology leadership and further strengthens brand awareness in urban landscaping.
